A BIT ABOUT ME

I'm a nonprofit consultant and facilitator who’s been engaged in social change work for more than two decades. I'm passionate about helping organizations care for their people and develop strategies to be as resourced and impactful as possible.

My consulting work is informed by 25 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, where I've worn many hats including community organizer, campaign strategist, coalition coordinator, co-director, development director, executive director, and consultant. I've worked with a diversity of organizations both urban and rural, local and national, on issues like climate justice, private prison industry divestment, homelessness, and food systems. A common thread running through all of my work is a commitment to building a more just, liberatory, and livable world.

To create this world, we also need to build more just and liberatory organizations. I partner with groups to navigate challenges, grow through transitions, and develop systems to increase their effectiveness and resilience. This work can look a variety of ways, from strategic planning to building a culture of psychological safety with open pathways for giving and receiving feedback.

Some of the lenses I apply across all of my work are equity, inclusion, justice, healing/belonging, and systems theoryAs a systems thinker, I bring an awareness of how all parts of a system work together to determine the outcomes of the whole.

As a consultant, I take a collaborative and relational approach. Together, we'll assess what's working and what's not, determine what changes, interventions, or next steps are needed, and develop strategies to take your organization to the next level.

Education and Professional Associations: I have a BA in Social Justice and Sustainable Development from Pitzer College and a Certificate in Organizational Development from PSU. I'm a member of The Work That Reconnects Facilitators Network, the Organization Development Network of Oregon, and the Nonprofit Democracy Network.

In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, backpacking, and botanizing in alpine meadows.

"Abigail is an agile facilitator, capable of succinctly summarizing, then helping synthesize, diverse opinions while offering creative ways forward in both small and large groups.

I’ve been part of two organizations that Abigail was brought in to help with long-range planning, strategizing, and prioritizing work. In both instances, she helped us in ways that we could not have done for ourselves. Having Abigail involved, in both instances, made our collective work clearer and more productive. I highly recommend Abigail."
